AF&AM Only Master Masons in good standing who are members of a Lodge in Virginia Masonic Districts 15 A, B, or C, their immediate family (i.e. spouse, widow, children, and grandchildren) may apply. Only applicants with a 3.0 grade point average or higher, and Full Time Student status, will qualify for consideration of a scholarship.
The Applicant must complete (printed or typed) and sign the "Application for the William M. Cottrell Memorial Scholarship".
The Applicant must include with the application, a current sealed official transcript or indicate that one will be sent by the school to the Lodge secretary.
The Applicant must include with their application a copy of the acceptance letter from the college, university, or technical school, which they will attend, if not presently attending a college, university, or technical school.
The Applicant must include with the application a copy of their college photo ID, or if not already attending college, a copy of a state issued photo ID.
In order to be considered for a scholarship award the applicant must meet the criteria above, provide the information required, complete the application as required, and return the cover page signed, with the application by the Deadline -(Postmarked by May 31 and received no later than June 10 to be considered.)
The application will not be reviewed if the applicant does not meet all of the above requirements. No notice regarding missing items is required to be sent to the applicant. Applications should be mailed to the Lodge Secretary at:
