Scholarship trust is to provide funds for deserving students who are members of
– International Order of Demolay, International Order of Jobs Daughters, and
International Order of Rainbow for Girls, in Virginia Masonic Districts 15
A,B,C.
The
applicant must be a member of the above mentioned organizations and in good
standing according to organization bylaws. The applicant must also be in their
senior year of high school or equivalent in home school environment.
The
scholarships are for students who will be enrolled full time at an accepted
school and in a curriculum leading to a Associate, Bachelor, Masters or PhD
degree. The scholarship will be for $500 and paid in the form of a single
payment to the qualifying institution.
Application:
Each
applicant must mail to Joppa Lodge #40 AF &AM a letter requesting
scholarship consideration. The letter should address, but not be limited to,
the following topics:

The
name of the Student and affiliated organization
·
Scholastic
achievements and GPA
·
School
activities
·
Community
or Masonic service projects
·
Membership
and positions held in School, Civic and Masonic organizations
·
Hobbies
and interests
·
The
school to be attended and the major field of study
·
Career
objectives
A letter,
or letters, of recommendation from at least one of the following categories:
·
Education
·
Employer
·
Group/Club
·
Masonic
organization
The
completed application must be postmarked by May 31st,2007 to:
Final
Decision by Scholarship committee announced and posted on Website by June 18th,
2007.
